Chinese Speaking Corner (Beginner and Post-Beginner and Intermediate Corner)
This tutor led activity is a Chinese oral practice session in the format of role play, students will discuss a range of topics, eg introducing yourself and your family, asking for directions, discussion your hobbies, discuss university life, and a wide range of other topics. At the start of each session your teacher will provide and demonstrate expressions for each weekly topic. Participants will then be invited to take up a role and practise, your teacher will be there to provide assistance and to help the conversation flow. There are two sessions each week, the Tuesday sessions will suit participants who are at the beginner and post-beginner level. The Wednesday sessions will suit intermediate level learners

Chinese Calligraphy 1
This course will start with an introduction of Chinese art history and an explanation as to how Chinese philosophy influences Chinese art, before moving to practical issue such as common techniques related to the Chinese soft brushes and ink control

Business Etiquette – Evening Class
This course is delivered in English. It introduces the basic structure of the Chinese economy, the business climate in China, essential aspects of contemporary Chinese cultural relations and behaviour and major business etiquette. The course will be a useful guide for those interested in conducting business in/with China. The course will also enhance the students’ ability to communicate effectively with Chinese business people as well as Chinese people as a whole. Note: This course starts on 20th September but it is 9 week course with a non-teaching reading week (18th Oct-22nd Oct) and its last session falls on 18th November

Intermediate 1/HSK Level 3 Part One
The course is intended for students who have studied Chinese for about 60-70 hours and have mastered 300 characters. By the end of the course, students are expected to have mastered 150 commonly used words and related grammar patterns allowing them to understand simple reading materials in Chinese Characters. This course will assist students to prepare for the HSK level 3 exam

One to One Chinese Classes
These classes are tailored to the students requirements and are available from Monday to Friday during semester and non-semester time. The classes are arranged upon request. Each booking consists of 5 sessions at a discounted price of £20. The teacher will contact you either by email or via an online meeting to gauge your learning needs in order to develop a teaching plan. This initial discussion is in addition to the 5 sessions
