Students from Heriot Watt LINCS and SCIBC achieve success in the Chinese Bridge Competition

On 26th June, the 20th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition UK Final was held online. Brodie Lawrence, who studies at Heriot Watt University with LINCS and SCIBC presented a wonderful speech and an impressive piece for the talent show- a rap song with some Chinese Kungfu features. Through his perfect performance and understanding of Chinese culture, Brodie successfully won the third prize on the 20th Chinese Bridge UK Final.

There was another surprise when Robin Wilson, also a student from LINCS and SCIBC, was invited by the organisers of the Chinese Bridge Competition to be the host of the competition. His proficiency in Chinese and steady hosting style impressed all the online participants.

Since 2018, SCIBC students have competed in the Chinese Bridge Competition for four consecutive years and have won prizes. In the future, the SCIBC will continue to inspire more Heriot Watt students to learn Chinese language and about Chinese culture, and to actively provide more opportunities for them to communicate with Chinese friends, study and develop in China.
