Traditionally in China May is a month that is full of romance, and the 20th of May is the day you can express your love to your parents, partner and even yourself! “520” is actually a homonym for “I love you” in Chinese and derived from Chinese Internet culture. However, it has gradually developed into a nationally recognised day of love. On 520, people and of course businesses are keen on romantic gifts, many of which deliver good wishes to the recipient and reflect Chinese romantic culture.

Many international brands, such as Lancôme and Estee Lauder, have created makeup sets that are tailored specifically for the occasion. The cosmetics is usually designed with some elements that relate to Chinese romantic love stories.
