Tourist Chinese Workshop 

The 20th of April 2022 is the United Nations Chinese Language Day. We are planning a free workshop that will introduce tourist Chinese. This course suits those who are interested in learning Chinese to visit China for leisure or business purposes. It covers a quick introduction to Chinese pronunciation and wildly used everyday phrases about boarding a plane, getting a taxi, and booking a restaurant in Chinese.

Chinese Calligraphy Workshop 1 

The 20th of April 2022 is the United Nations Chinese Language Day. We are planning a free workshop that will introduce Chinese calligraphy. This course will start with a brief introduction to Chinese Calligraphy history and classification. Then the course will move to Standard Script (楷书 kǎi shū), which is an ideal script for beginners. The course will cover basic strokes and common techniques related to Chinese brushes and ink control. You will also learn some Chinese culture during this course. Due to Covid restrictions, students are required to prepare their own art materials – brush, ink paper and mat.

Then the course will move to Seal Script (篆书 zhuàn shū), which is a graceful script in Chinese Calligraphy. The course will cover basic strokes and common techniques related to Chinese brushes and ink control. You will also learn some Chinese culture during this course. Due to Covid restrictions, students are required to prepare their own art materials – brush, ink paper and mat.
