2nd Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovations for UK University Students (2021)

In order to promote the development of business Chinese teaching in the UK universities, stimulate UK university students’ potential in business innovation and encourage them to care, participate and advocate charitable projects, based on the successful running of the 1st Business Chinese Competition for UK University Students held in 2020 with participations of contestants from SOAS, University of London, University of Manchester and University of Birmingham, the 2nd Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovations for UK University Students will be held online in April 2021.

2. Competition: 2nd Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovations for UK University Students (2021)

3. Date: 10th April 2021 (Saturday)

4. Format: Zoom Online

5. Contestants’ Qualifications: ” Undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students studying at schools, faculties, departments, Confucius Institutes and language centers of the UK universities and people who take part-time courses, short courses and/or evening classes at the UK universities in 2020 to 2021.” The mother tongue is not Chinese.

6. Theme: Topics related to charitable projects and business innovations, including but not limited to charitable projects, business plans, product introductions, introduction of companies and enterprises, business cases and market researches.

7. Content: Speech presentation:

8 to 10 minutes Q&A: 4 to 6 minutes

8. Language: Mandarin Chinese

9. Prizes: Contestants who rank top 5 of the competition will be awarded certificates and contribution to the return airfare of undertaking work placement and/or attending business Chinese classes in China. The rest of the contestants will be awarded certificate of participation of the competition and souveniors.

10. Enrolment Please submit the contestants’ name list and the completed application forms of the competition by the participating universities to the Organising Committee on later than 5th March (Friday).

11. Number of Contestants In principle no more than 4 contestants from each participating university.

12. Support from the industry Senior business representatives of the UK based Chinese key enterprises and companies and the local British counterparts will join the judge panel of the competition and provide awards for the competition and offer work placement for prominent contestants of the competition.
