NEW! 3rd Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovations for UK University Students (2022) Preliminary Selection
In order to promote the development of business Chinese teaching in the UK universities, stimulate UK university students’ potential in business innovation and encourage them to care, participate and advocate charitable projects, based on the successful running of the 2nd Business Chinese Competition for UK University Students held in 2021 with contestants participating from SOAS, University of London, University of Manchester and University of Birmingham, the 2nd Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovations for UK University Students will be held online in April 2022.
Preliminary selection:
The preliminary selection process includes two stages.
Stage 1: You are invited to submit a 3-5 minute video of you giving your business presentation (in Chinese) to w.gu@hw.ac.uk by 5pm on Thursday 3rd March.
Stage 2: You will receive an invitation to attend a 5 minute Q&A session (based on your business presentation) by 5pm on Friday 4th March if you have been selected to enter stage 2. The Q&A session will take place between 6.30pm to 8pm on Monday 7th March so it is important that you tentatively block off the time slot on 7th March in advance. It is important to note that you should not read your presentation from a written script but you should deliver a presentation. The evaluation is based on the language, its content and how well you present it. When you submit your video, please also include the following information in your email: Your name, your affiliation with SCIBC or HWU e.g. which department you are from, which programme you are currently studying and/or which course you attended.

International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship 2022
For the purpose of satisfying the growing demand of the international community for Chinese language teachers and facilitating Chinese language education in other countries, the Centre of Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) will continue with the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship. Confucius Institutes, independently operating Confucius Classrooms, certain HSK test centres, Chinese language departments of foreign universities, professional associations for Chinese language instructions, Chinese embassies abroad may recommend outstanding students and currently-employed Chinese language teachers for study at International Chinese Language Education or related majors at Chinese universities and colleges.
