Panel Discussion with Tamar Chang, Clinical Psychologist from Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA) Lim Siow Yen, Counsellor at Heriot Watt University, Malaysia Campus and Ooi Kai Chien an Undergraduate at Heriot Watt University Malaysia
The event starts with a panel discussion entitled ‘Wellbeing and U’ with Tamar Chang, clinical psychologist from the Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA), Lim Siow Yen, counsellor at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, and Ooi Kai Chien, undergraduate student at HWUM. They will answer questions about wellbeing, how to maintain it, and taboo surrounding discussions of mental health.
It is the followed by a choice of three concurrent workshops, where participants pick one out of three to join.
- Mindfulness session, led by Kenny Boyd, counsellor at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh campus
- Baduanjin (similar to qigong), led by Wenli and co-organised by the Scottish Conficius Institute for Business & Communication (SCIBC)
- ‘Staying Safe in Relationships in Difficult Times’, delivered by Alicia Lee, Community Engagement Officer of the Women’s Aid Organisation.
The talk touches upon: Healthy & unhealthy relationships; Type of abuses; Identify red flags; What you can do/Reaching out.
