Course run by The Scottish Confucius Institute for Business and Communication at Heriot-Watt University & Alba Cathay Chinese School
This course will provide students with a basic knowledge of the Chinese economy, essential aspects of contemporary Chinese human relations and behaviour, and major business etiquette. At the end of the course students will have a basic knowledge of Chinese in a business environment, able to read simple business materials in Chinese, and communicate effectively with Chinese business people as well as Chinese people as a whole.
By the end of the course, students are expected to recognise and be able to write 260 Chinese characters that relate to business, have mastered grammar patterns and have a better grasp of basic Business Chinese enabling participants to be able to communicate routine tasks.
Timetable: 30 weeks per year, Saturday, 9:30am – 10.15am on the following dates:
